We do not know if he has ever lived with cats, and he will likely need a no cat home. Kevin has not lived with a child in foster care. Kevin is a very sweet dog who leans in for attention. He enjoys watching TV and helping around the house. Kevin rides well in the car. He would be great for someone who will commit to training him in obedience and other fun things. *Kevin is a large dog who requires daily exercise. He may not be a good fit for an apartment or townhome unless the family is committed to exercise and training. He will not be a good fit for 'invisible' fencing. *Each pup is spayed or neutered and current on their vet cares. *We do not hold or reserve dogs. We do not ship or fly. Prospective families must come to NORTHFIELD MN to meet. Aside from monthly adoption events, we do not meet in the Twin Cities* *Emails are answered in the order they are received. We are receiving a large number of emails, so answering promptly is our goal. PIease Read Before Adopting a Chesapeake Bay Retriever in Minnesota
Chesapeake Bay Retriever Dogs can make good pets in Minnesota if they match your IifestyIe. The Chesapeake Bay Retriever, or Chessie, is a friendly, smart, medium sized breed. Chessies like to have their own way and can be a bit slow to obedience. Owners should be firm authority figures with experience training strong willed dogs. Chessies are wonderful with children. The Chesapeake Bay retriever is more aggressive than other retrievers, especially with other dogs, and needs to be thoroughly socialized. Chessies like to be outside and do well with a decent sized yard or some land.
